Want to catch up on Norwegian TV shows and films without leaving your house? If you use Netflix or Amazon Video, you have access to quite a bit of content from Norway—probably more than you realize! Here’s a selection of shows and films from the last five years that are available through streaming services and on DVD in the U.S.

The Heavy Water War: When the Nazis secure a heavy water plant to realize their plan to create an atomic bomb, the Norwegian allies struggle to sabotage the operation. Available on Netflix and Amazon Video.

The Monitor: After escaping her abusive husband, Anna and her 8-year-old son move to a secret location in a cavernous apartment building. But she keeps hearing frightening noises—like the sound of a child being murdered. Available on Netflix DVD and Amazon Video.
Oslo, August 31st: This psychological drama follows a day in the life of Anders, a recovering drug addict who travels to his old stomping grounds of Oslo for a job interview. Available on Netflix DVD and Amazon Video.
Pioneer: At the birth of the Nordic oil boom of the 1980s, a diver begins to suspect a conspiracy involving a team of Americans and the Norwegian government. Available on Netflix, Netflix DVD, and Amazon Video.
Ragnarok: An archaeologist sets out to find a link between an ancient shipwreck and the Viking apocalypse known as Ragnarok, only to make a chilling discovery. Available on Netflix, Netflix DVD, and Amazon Video.
Supervention: This documentary follows a group of talented skiers and snowboarders as they travel to exotic destinations and execute daring feats. Available on Netflix and Amazon Video.
Thale: While cleaning up a bloody crime scene, two buddies encounter a captive creature of Norwegian myth: a beautiful mute female with a tail. Available on Netflix, Netflix DVD, and Amazon Video.
The Wave: Geologist Kristian Elkjord senses something wrong with the mountain overlooking his scenic town. When a landslide sends tons of rock crashing into the water, everyone has ten minutes to escape the resulting tsunami. Available on Amazon Video and coming soon to Redbox.
