Warschawski hired to boost Norway’s tourism efforts
BALTIMORE, April 14, 2009 – Warschawski, a full service public relations, marketing and advertising agency, announced today it has been retained as U.S. agency of record by Innovation Norway, the Norwegian state-owned company that promotes the Country of Norway’s industry and tourism abroad.
Innovation Norway employs more than 700 people and has offices in all Norwegian counties and in more than 30 countries worldwide. In 2004, Innovation Norway replaced the following four organizations: The Norwegian Tourist Board, The Norwegian Trade Council, The Norwegian Industrial and Regional Development Fund and The Government Consultative Office for Inventors.
Warschawski previously worked with Innovation Norway on a project-basis to execute brand-centric communications campaigns. As Innovation Norway’s agency of record for the U.S., Warschawski is responsible for leading integrated marketing and public relations activities to promote travel and tourism to a national audience. In addition to the ongoing retainer relationship, Warschawski will work with Innovation Norway on separate special projects throughout the year that will raise awareness for Norway’s architecture, design, culture and business practices. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
“Norway is continually working to educate Americans about the beauty of our Scandinavian country – from the benefits of traveling to Norway to its nature-based lifestyle and its governmental policies,” commented Kristin Dahle, regional director, Americas, Innovation Norway. “We are extremely pleased with the results we have gained from working with Warschawski. In fact, since our relationship started we have doubled the number of visitors to our tourism website – visitnorway.com. We are excited to extend our relationship with Warschawski through 2009.”
“We are thrilled to grow our relationship with Innovation Norway. It has been a wonderful experience working with them to help grow Norway’s brand among its target audiences. We particularly enjoyed helping to launch the opening of the new Oslo Opera House, creating the Passport to Friluftsliv campaign and, most recently, raising U.S. awareness of Norway’s gender equality practices,” commented David Warschawski, CEO of Warschawski. “We look forward to executing exciting communications campaigns throughout 2009 to help Innovation Norway meet its business goals.”
