Large amounts of snow fell in many parts of Norway last night.

Stryn is one of the places that received a lot of snow last night. Arne Vik woke up to 50 centimeters of snow.
“It has snowed well the last twelve hours. I have been out driving in the morning hours and the car was not particularly keen to run because the snow is heavy and wet.”

Stryn, south of Aalesund,  is one of the places that received a lot of snow last night. Arne Vik woke up to 50 centimeters of snow.

“It has snowed well the last twelve hours. I have been out driving in the morning hours and the car was not particularly keen to run because the snow is heavy and wet.”

He says that there might be more snow in store yet, but hope it lets up as the day goes on. In Veitastrond in Luster, 25 cm of snow fell in the night. On Monday afternoon the snow was still coming down there.

White snowflakes create additional mood now in the pre-Christmas period, but has also led to problems in several places. Several cars have ended up in the ditch, and E 39 at Moskog Forde there were significant delays after a traffic accident.

On-duty meteorologist Arnstein Tjøstheim, of weather forecasting for the West Coast, says mores snow will probably come during the day Monday.

“There will be some snow showers today, either in the form of sleet or snow. But the way it looks now, it lets up on Tuesday and Wednesday. Then it will also cool down, with freezing temperatures. New low pressure on Thursday means that the temperature rises again and we will have more rain,” he says.
