After making its challenging transatlantic journey from Norway to North America and sailing through the Great Lakes and down the Erie Canal, Draken Harald Hårfagre has been kept safe at Mystic Seaport. Located in Mystic, Conn., Mystic Seaport—The Museum of America and the Sea is the largest maritime museum in the United States.

Mystic Seaport has provided the crew with many resources, allowing them to complete repair work on the rig and repair the sails. Visitors to the museum have been enjoying visiting the world’s largest Viking ship in modern times and learning about the ship, the story of its journey, and the history of the Vikings.

The Draken will be available to view at Mystic Seaport at least through May 2018. The museum is also home to more than 500 historic watercraft over 19 acres on the Mystic River as well as a recreated coastal village and shipyard.
