Veidekke to build school and day care centre in Oslo
Norwegian construction group Veidekke ASA (OSE:VEI) said on Wednesday (11 February) that its subsidiary Veidekke Entreprenor AS has won a NOK171m construction contract from the municipal educational buildings and property undertaking Undervisningsbygg Oslo KF in Oslo, Norway.
The contract covers construction of a school and day care centre in the Helsefyr area of Oslo. The school will accommodate 890 pupils and the day care centre will have four departments for 150 children in all. The new building will also include facilities for speech therapy service and afterschool clubs, and will have an underground multi-purpose hall, Veidekke said. The project is scheduled for completion in August 2010.
Hardanger Fjord Bridge
Last month Veidekke won a NOK331m bridge construction contract from the Norwegian road administration, Statens vegvesen. The contract, won by Veidekke’s unit Veidekke Entreprenor AS, covers concrete work in connection with the construction of a bridge across the Hardanger fjord. The work includes the construction of two bridge towers, viaducts, approach tunnels and concrete work in anchorage and splay chambers for the stress cables. The work is scheduled for completion in April 2013, reported Tradingmarkets.com.
