Veidekke to build new government building in Oslo

Work comprises restoring the former headquarters of the Norwegian Public Service Pension Fund in Keysers gate 8, which is a protected building dating from 1899. Further, Keysers gate 6 is to be rebuilt and a new building is to be erected in Teatergata 9. The three properties will be joined to form a representative government building for the two ministries. The new building R6 will be attached to the existing goverment buildings.

Veidekke Entreprenør AS has entered into an agreement with Statsbygg to build the new government building number 6. The building will be used by the Ministry of Health and Care Services and Ministry of Agriculture and Food. The contract total is NOK 218 million excluding VAT.

The project will have a gross floorage of 21,500 square metres. Work starts during the summer 2009 and will be completed in November 2011. The contract is a principal contract and will be carried out as a cooperative model. The project has ambitious environmental targets with respect to energy, resource and material use as well as waste management.
