U.S. helps Stolt-Nielsen ship drifting off Somalia
A vessel belonging to chemical tanker group Stolt-Nielsen, which has been drifting unprotected off the coast of Somalia for days, has received help from the United States navy, Reuters reported on April 27.
The “MT Stolt Strength” had for the past week been drifting and low on fuel after it was released by Somali captors. The tanker was captured by pirates off the Horn of Africa on November 10 last year, and released on April 21. The tanker is now on its way to Salalah in Oman, escorted by a Chinese frigate.
