Heavy smoke poured out of Kjørbo tunnel after a fire occurred after a collision between three vehicles Thursday.
Police have sealed off the tunnel to Hønefoss and a woman in her 20s has been sent to the emergency room.
“Three cars were involved in a rear impact. The woman in the last car was driven to the emergency room,” said operations manager John Kløvjan in Asker and Bærum Police District.
Police said they still do not know how the fire started after the collision in Kjørbo-Tunnel towards Hønefoss.
“We have carried out investigations of the cars and we have talked with the drivers, but so far it is only speculation on what triggered the fire. Two of the cars are completely burned out, so the people who were involved in the accident have been lucky,” says Kløvjan.
The police was notified of the incident in Sandvika center at 3:31 p.m.
