Train derailed in Oslo
Rail confirms that a train has derailed in Oslo.
According to the National Rail a train derailed in Bryn Bakken by Harald Hårådes place. Only 30 meters away from live NRK reporter Halldor Asvall. He felt the derailment through the building.
“We stood in the kitchen and talked. Then we heard that rumble and felt that it shook the floor. I have no experience with such things, but it felt like a small earthquake. It was certainly more powerful than when the train just blows past,” said Asvall.
Police and rescue teams were alerted immediately.
“We cooperate with the police and worked to get passengers into other transport as soon as possible,” said information chief Preben Colstrup from NSB to NRK.
According to the NSB, one and a half carriages have derailed. The derailed train obstructing all traffic east to Lillestrøm and Oslo Airport Gardermoen. The passengers are still in the car at 19.30, and guard and police are now planning evacuation.
“It means that there are no trains between Oslo S and Lillestrøm and Oslo Airport Gardermoen. We do not know when we have opened the track again, but the Airport Express has at least set up alternative transport to the main airport,” said Ann Kristin Endal of Rail told NRK.
NSB does not know the cause of the derailment.
