Toyota recall cars in Norway

Toyota has started the recall of 270,000 vehicles due to defects in the engine. 38 of them are Lexus sold in Norway.

The error may lead to unusual noises from the engine, unstable idling and in very rare cases, stopping of the engine, said Toyota Norway.

Monday began efforts to convene the 38 vehicles to be repaired in the workshop as soon as possible.Only ten cases of these engine problems have been reported in Europe, where 15,000 cars will be recalled.

“We apologize for the inconvenience, of course, the recall means for the involved customers who will be contacted immediately. Toyota has not detected this phenomenon in Norway, and the customer would normally get a notice through abnormal sounds and vibrations from the engine, information officer” said Espen Olsen of Toyota Norway in a statement.

he recall applies to vehicles of the models Lexus GS and Lexus LS. Lexus RX is not covered by these engine problems.

Toyota has in the past year been hit by a series of quality problems and has recalled about 10 million vehicles since the end of last year. (AFP)
