Tour de Ski: Northug second
Tour de Ski and World Cup leader, Norway’s Petter Northug had to settle for second place in the 20km mass start victory in Val di Fiemme on Saturday. Czech skier Lukas Bauer won, with Germany’s Axel Teichmann third.
Northug started off first, but was soon overtaken by Bauer. Northug sprinted away from the pack to catch up with Bauer at the half way stage but couldn’t keep up with the Czech skier.
In the end the Norwegian won a sprint finish with Teichmann to cross the line 31.5 seconds behind Bauer.
