Thumbs up for Norwegian films Down Under
Starting October 16 through November 1, Norwegian features Max Manus and The Man who loved Yngve will be screened at the Nordic Film Festival in the Australian cities of Sydney, Canberra and Melbourne.
The media Down Under has already given thumbs up for the Norwegian entries. On October 14, The Sydney Morning Herald published an article on the Max Manus director duo Joachim Roenning and Espen Sandberg (photo).
The article is about their close collaboration as film makers and the film’s domestic success. Reporter Conrad Walters’ heading reads “Saboteurs versus Nazis, minus the stereotypes”.
The two Norwegian films at the festival has already been mentioned in a wide range of Australian media, ranging from online City Guides to film industry magazines and regular news media.
Nordic Film Festival is a joint venture between the Nordic embassies in Australia. The festival aimas at increasing Australian interest in Scandinavian films.
