Spain’s Industry Ministry is enthusiastically supporting the introduction of EVs in Spain, and they are aiming to install electric car infrastructure in several cities as well as subsidizing the government, municipal and private purchase of smaller EV fleets.

“The Spanish government is providing 10 million Euros to support the early introduction of electric vehicles. I am delighted to see that Think’s cars are being delivered already this year, so we can prepare the ground for a fast transition to clean vehicles, said Mr. Juan Luis Pla, Manager of Transport – IDAE- Ministry of Industry.

Think is preparing the TH!NK city for its first Southern European market. “Spain is an important and large market for us, and the Spanish government’s decisive action to move to electric vehicles will enable Think to continue to take advantage of our first-mover position in the European EV market” said Richard Canny, CEO of Think. “The combination of government-led demonstration programs followed by incentives for consumer to purchase EVs is a pattern that leading governments around the world are following. It helps get EVs on the market, increases the scale for Lithium-ion battery producers and drives the cost of these batteries down”.

The MoU has been signed with TH!NK´s partner in Spain, Going Green. Going Green is working together with Think to build market awareness and consumer consciousness for electric vehicle mobility.

“We view these first 550 vehicles as an important first step. Our goal is to distribute the TH!NK city to both retail customers, corporate clients and government and municipal customers. Our national retail network is now preparing for the introduction of TH!NK city EVs to their customers throughout Spain”, said Gonzalo Alonso , Managing Director of Going Green.
