As we have just witnessed Hollywood’s annual gala, the Academy Awards, this might be an appropriate time to look back at a cartoon on the subject appearing in a popular American magazine awhile ago.
Two women are in a theater watching a movie. On the screen we see an enormous flood, with water swirling down a river, carrying along an uprooted tree and a floating house, while dark rain clouds cascade down more water. One of the women turns to her friend and says, “Now that’s just what I don’t like about the movies. In the book they only had a leaky faucet.”
