The Christian Radich voyages 2009
Everyone can be enrolled to travel on Christian Radich, one of the world’s most famous fully rigged ships, this summer. No previous knowledge is required. The voyages takes place in July and August, with visits to various ports abroad. Join the Christian Radich and get your life changing experience!
A voyage on board Christian Radich is a positive challenge, both physically and mentally. It is a unique opportunity to experience one of the last sailing windjammers of the world. You can travel alone, together with friends or family.
On board you will find new friends from various countries and you participate in duties according to your physical condition. On the race legs the age limit is 15. On all other legs the limit is 16, 12 when travelling with a parent. For participants over 70 a medical certificate of fitness will be required.
The vessel was built for training sailors for the Norwegian merchant navy, and did so for many years. From 1999 and on, the ship has been on the charter market as well as sailing with paying trainees to foreign ports on summer trips, participating in the Cutty Sark Tall Ships’ Race and large sail events in various European ports. She won on corrected time in Class A and overall the tall ship in total in 2007, and became the only class A vessel that crossed the finish line.
