Telenor wins NOK90m deal from Oslo Municipality
Oslo Municipality, in the shape of its Development and Skills Service, and Telenor have entered into an agreement on the operation of the local authority’s corporate data and telephony network.
The agreement also covers the supply of communications equipment and services. It is a 3-year agreement worth a total of NOK 90 million. The Development and Skills Service carried out this procurement on behalf of all the organisations in Oslo Municipality.
The agreements cover the operation of data and telephony networks for around 1400 sites within the municipality, and the option of supplying equipment and associated services over a 3-year period from the date of operational delivery. The agreements may be extended by a further three years. This agreement has a minimum annual value of NOK 30 million.
“This agreement is important for Telenor’s long-term focus on the operation of customer-specific solutions. We are looking forward to providing the secure operation of Oslo Municipality’s communications network and helping pave the way for the introduction of future-proofed communications solutions for use by Oslo Municipality and its residents,” explained Abraham Foss (photo), Head of Business Markets at Telenor.
“Oslo Municipality’s data and telephony network is one of the foundation stones of the municipality’s provision of services for its residents. To be able to provide services to our residents, we are completely dependent on collaboration with competent providers who can operate a stable network with a high degree of uptime,” said Tor Fjellstad, Head of Department of Oslo Municipality’s Development and Skills Service.
Datametrix will provide the majority of the equipment, and will also be responsible for the operation and servicing of the network and telephony solution for Oslo Municipality.
“Telenor and Datametrix complement each other well, which means that we have been able to win a contract here together that neither of us could have won alone. We have now demonstrated that we have the skills and organisation to land really big projects,” commented Svein Lerkerød, Managing Director of Datametrix.
