Team Sky aim for the heavens with Norway’s Edvald Boasson Hagen
One of the brightest stars of world cycling today became the latest rider to be signed by Team Sky, the British squad being launched next year, reports Guardian.co.uk
22-year-old Edvald Boasson Hagen, from Lillehammer, Norway, has risen this year to No3 in the world, behind Alberto Contador and Andy Schleck.
Boasson Hagen will leaved Colombia-HTC to join British Cycling’s Team Sky in 2010.
“It’s really exciting to be joining such a good team and I can’t wait for next season,” said the Norwegian champion.
“I’ve had two fine years in Columbia with a good sporting director and good riders, but I wanted to try something new and got the opportunity to speak to (sporting director) Scott Sunderland and Sky,” Boasson Hagen told a news conference, adding he had signed a three-year deal.
