How it all began in the 1970’s in Sarasota Florida…

Robert Clark wrote, “A dream of visiting Norway on reasonable Charter Flights, and then contact with Sons of Norway Headquarters, led to the formation of the Sons of Norway Sarasota Lodge. People interested in joining were found through friends, churches, newspaper ads, and through a local store that advertised LUTEFISK!”

The Sarasota Lodge #539 was instituted March 30, 1974. Tampa Bay Lodge #515 was the sponsoring Lodge.”

Members and friends have been enjoying 35 years of good fellowship and working together, to preserve and promot the heritage and culture of Norway. Sons of Norway has close to 70,000 members across the United
