Soccer: Norway lost another WC qualifier

Norway who needed a win lost 0-2 to the Netherlands in Wednesday’s World Cup qualifier, and are now rooted to the bottom of qualifying group nine with three points from five matches.

Andre Ooijer and Arjen Robben scored to earn the Netherlands their 2-0 home victory over Norway.

Norway’s only chance came just after halftime with a shot from Morten Gamst Pedersen, but Maarten Stekelburg saved.

Norway’s hope for a place in the World Cup finals is now slimmer than ever, and seen as only theoretical by most.
