Soccer: Norway international Riise set to sign for Fulham

LONDON (AP) — Norway midfielder Bjørn Helge Riise was on the verge Monday of joining Fulham from Lillestrøm.

The 26-year-old Riise — whose older brother John Arne spent seven seasons with Liverpool and now plays for AS Roma in Serie A — traveled to London for contract talks and a medical, Fulham said on its Web site.

“This process is not due to be completed until late on Tuesday evening,” the Premier League club said in a statement.

Norwegian media reported that the transfer fee would be around 16 million kroner ($2.5 million; euro1.8 million).

Riise is currently in his fifth season with Lillestrom and has played 16 times for Norway.
