Record sale of Norwegian natural gas

While falling oil prices has led to a fall in the export value of oil, Norwegian export of natural gas reaches new heights. In January 2009, the export values increased with 29,4 percent compared to the numbers from January 2008, reports Barents Observer.
The amount of exported natural gas rose with 4,8 percent from December. Part of the gas is being processed at the Melkøya plant outside Hammerfest.
Regarding other export commodities except oil and natural gas, the export value is falling. In January, Norway exported goods for 24,7 billion NOK, the lowest result since July 2006. Decisive in this matter is the reduction in mineral oil products, liquid propane and butane and metals.
