Pure Salmon Campaign pleas to King Harald

Pure Salmon claims that Norwegian fish farming firms threaten wild salmon with their facilities located near the wild salmon's migration routes

During the opening of Aqua Nor, leaders of the internationally active Pure Salmon Campaign handed King Harald V a letter, spelling out their concerns and especially seeking his help.

King Harald himself is an avid sports fisherman. He often goes fishing for wild salmon in Norwegian rivers.

Pure Salmon claims that Norwegian fish farming firms threaten wild salmon with their facilities located near the wild salmon’s migration routes.

They fear the fish farming operations threaten wild salmon by spreading disease and parasites into local waters. The organization has offices in the U.S., Canada, Europe, Chile and Australia.
