Oslo Medtech Network awarded ARENA-status
On October 5, Oslo Medtech Network were awarded ARENA-status, which means financial and advisory support is secured for the next three years.
ARENA is a national programme for long term development of regional business clusters, owned by Innovation Norway, the Research Council of Norway and SIVA (The Industrial Development Corporation of Norway).
A delighted Kathrine Myhre, who is the interim manager at Oslo Medtech Network, said: “We believe this status will foster even more cooperation between the health sector and medtech companies, and help realise the enormous potential of the medtech sector in Oslo. We also look forward to working with networks in other parts of Norway, for example in Trondheim, and internationally.
The Oslo Region is home to a diverse group of medtech companies. The Oslo Medtech Network dates back to 2007 when Innovation Norway took the initiative to form a network for the medtech industry sector. This was met with enthusiasm from regional companies as well as other NGO agencies supporting SMEs in their innovation and business development. The informal network soon proved itself able to address the issues found as common challenges for small and medium large medtech companies.
