NUPI to hold seminar about the Obama Presidency
The Norwegian Institute of International Affairs (NUPI) will hold a seminar: The Presidential transition and Obama’s first 40 days on Friday March 6 in Oslo.
Dr. John C. Fortier, American Enterprise Institute for Public Policy Research, will elaborate on the Presidential election and the transition of power, how the American transition differs from other countries’ and how President elect Obama picked personnel.
Fortier will also focus on the early days of the Obama Presidency, the first moves, executive orders work on the stimulus package, relations with Democrats and Republicans, and what we should expect in the first six months of his administration.
NUPI was etablished by the Norwegian Parliament in 1959 and began its activities shortly afterward. In the course of the years, many prominent figures have served as directors or researchers of the institute.
Mr. Jan Egeland, former Under-Secretary General of the United Nations, is the current director. The aim of NUPI is to contribute to greater awareness and insight concerning international issues, through research and the dissemination of information.
