Norwegian and Texan scientists collaborate
A group of Norwegian scientists from the medical field visited Houston February 16-19. The Baylor School of Medicine and Dr. Mike Friedlander hosted them and arranged meetings with numerous specialists in science and medicine at the college.
Consul General Seim met with the group and Dr. Friedlander Monday 16 February, and was given a brief presentation on the ongoing collaboration.
Currently, the group’s focus is on developing new collaborative biomedical and technology research programs between Norway and Baylor College of Medicine at the Texas Medical Center in Houston. In addition to individual scientists from Norway and the U.S. working together, the group is trying to bring the collaborative efforts to a higher political level.
Their goal is to learn and make use of best practices from both countries and develop ideas and plans that can benefit also other countries in the longer run.
