Norwegian Petroleum Directorate sees an increase in oil

Norwegian Petroleum Directorate said in its latest production report that oil production on the Norwegian continental shelf is likely to reach a level in October which is the highest level since July 2009.

The NPD has today made its preliminary production figures for June, which only contains the digits for liquids production. They show that fluid production in June was the worst in at least eighteen months.

“Production from fields in the Ekofisk area were closed for periods in June for maintenance and Vale were closed due to technical problems. Heidrun was closed 1 to 26 June because of maintenance, and Gullfaks C was closed in June due to a total of well problems” wrote the NPD.

A forecast for oil production on the Norwegian continental shelf, however, shows that production will reach 10 million Sm3 of oil in both October and December. Oil production in Norway has not been at such a level since July 2009.

In June of this year, daily production is 1,785,300 barrels of oil, NGL and condensate. Most of this was oil, while 194,700 barrels were NGL and 59,600 barrels of the condensate.

An updated message from the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate with figures for gas production will come next week, according to NPD.
