Norwegian contractor secures Hong Kong contract

Leonhard Nilsen & Sønner AS (LNS) has secured a contract worth NOK 2.1 billion to build sewage tunnels on the Hong Kong island, in a joint venture with Leighton Asia (Leighton). The contract is with Hong Kong Drainage Service Departement (DSD), and covers the building of a main sewage feed tunnel from Aberdeen to Sai Ying Pun on Hong Kong Island. The project is part of the Hong Kong Government’s Harbor Area Treatment Scheme (HATS). When the project is completed, the Hong Kong Harbor basin will appear far less polluted than at present.
