Norwegian Air says hopeful about 2009 profit
OSLO, Feb 20 (Reuters) – Budget airline Norwegian Air Shuttle (NWC.OL) said on Friday it was hopeful to end 2009 with a profit after it posted a deeper-than-expected loss for the fourth quarter of 2008.
“With the current oil price, it looks very good,” Chief Executive Bjørn Kjos told Reuters on the sidelines of a news conference when asked about the possibility for 2009 profit.
For 2008, Norwegian posted a profit before tax of 700,000 Norwegian crowns ($100,800).
