Norway company: Michigan's top 50

Loadmaster recognized for consistent growth

NORWAY — An Upper Peninsula manufacturing company is being recognized as one of the top small businesses in Michigan.

Loadmaster in Norway has been named one of the 2010 “Michigan 50 Companies To Watch”. Loadmaster is a national and international manufacturer of garbage trucks.

Despite the recession, the company has seen its sales grow more than 27 percent in the last four years.

Loadmaster is happy both its company and the Upper Peninsula are getting recognized.

“Well it’s kind of an elite group,” said owner, David Brisson. “Generally when you’re involved with business, you toil day to day. It’s definitely a positive thing to get some recognition especially on a statewide level and from the Governor of Michigan.”

Loadmaster will be honored at the “Michigan Celebrates Small Business” event in Lansing at the end of the month.
