De 24. olympiske vinterleker (The 24th Olympic Winter Games) skal arrangeres i Kina (will be held in China) fra 4. til 20. februar 2022 (from Feb. 4 to Feb. 20, 2022). Snart kommer idrettsutøvere fra hele verden reise til å vertsbyen Beijing (Soon athletes from all over the world will travel to the host city Beijing) for å konkurrere i vintersport (to compete in winter sports).

De olympiske vinterleker (The Olympic Winter Games), eller vinter-OL (or Winter Olympics) arrangeres kun (are only held) hvert fjerde år (every four years), så det er en spennende begivenhet (so it is an exciting event). Millioner av mennesker (Millions of people) kommer til å  se åpnings- og avslutningsseremoniene (will watch the opening and closing ceremonies) på TV (on TV).

Det olympiske flagget heises (The Olympic flag is raised) ved åpningsseremonien (at the opening ceremony). Flagget består av (The flag consists of) fem sammenlenkede ringer (five linked rings) som symboliserer fellesskap og vennskap (which symbolize fellowship and friendship) mellom de fem verdensdelene (between the five continents).

Den olympiske fakkelen tennes (The Olympic torch is lit) og gis til en løper (and given to a runner) i en fakkelstafett (in a torch relay). På slutten av åpningsseremonien (At the end of the opening ceremony) tenner den siste løperen i stafetten (the last runner in the relay lights) Den olympiske ild (lights the Olympic flame).

Vinter-OL 2022 (The 2022 Winter Olympics) har 109 øvelser (has 109 events) i sju ulike idretter (in seven different sports):

Skiskyting (biathlon); bobsleigh (bobsledding) og skeleton; curling; ishockey (ice hockey); aking (luge);

Skøyter (Skating): kunstløp (figure skating), hurtigløp (speed skating) og kortbaneløp (and short track speed skating);

Utøverne som vinner (The athletes who win) første-, andre- og tredjeplass (first, second, and third place) i hver øvelse (in each event) står på en seierspall (stand on a winners podium) og får medaljer (and receive medals) i gull, sølv eller bronse (in gold, silver or bronze). Vinneren blir tildelt (The winner is awarded) tittelen “olympisk mester” (the title “Olympic champion”). Norge har vunnet flere medaljer (Norway has won more medals) under vinter-OL (during the Winter Olympics) enn noen nasjon (than any nation). Heia Norge! (Go, Norway!)
