Putting humanity into history!!
Norskedalen education programs focus on actual Norwegian immigrants in the 1860s as they created new lives in the Upper Midwest. "Letters from Anne" is an elementary curriculum based on letters Anne Engum might have written home to family and friends. This curriculum meets state and national academic standards in social studies, math, language arts and science.
Heritage education focuses on folk art and baking traditions. Taught by Norskedalen members who learned from their parents and grandparents, heritage courses in embroidery, crochet, weaving, Hardanger embroidery plus making lefse, sandbakkels, kransekake and krumkake come complete with all the tools you need to complete each project!
Norskedalen’ education is indeed committed to preserving our Norwegian heritage and traditions!
