CANNES — Subsidy body the Nordic Film & TV Fond has launched a scheme to promote cross-border distribution of Scandinavian art house titles.

Dubbed Nordic High Five, the program will provide distribution support for Scandinavian films released outside their home country but within the Nordic region.

The companies that will benefit from the first three-year program are Denmark’s Camera Film, NonStop Entertainment in Sweden, Norway’s Arthaus, Green Light Films in Iceland and BioRex of Finland.

The first five films to be released under the Nordic High Five label will be “White Night Wedding” from Iceland’s Baltasar Kormakur, which will bow in Sweden; the Danish release of Ruben Ostlund’s “De Ufrivillige”; the Norwegian bow of Klaus Haro’s “Letters to Pastor Jacob”; the Finish release of “Kenny Starfighter” from directors Calle Astrand and Mats Lindberg; and Danish director Nicolas Winding Refn’s “Valhalla Rising” for a Icelandic bow.
