No appeal for convicted spy Treholt

Convicted spy Arne Treholt will not have his case reopened to address claims of evidence tampering and fabrication.
Arne Treholt, convicted 26 years ago of spying for the former Soviet Union and Iraq, has been denied the right to have his case reopened.This was announced by the Norwegian Criminal Cases Review Commission (Gjenopptagelseskommisjonen) on Thursday.
The Commission said it had found no evidence to substantiate claims in the media stating that evidence against Treholt had been fabricated or tampered with.
Treholt served seven years of his 20-year term before being pardoned for health reasons in 1992. He now resides in Cyprus.
