Norwegian Immigration Association announcing the 54th Miss Norway of Greater New York Contest
The 54th Miss Norway of Greater New York Contest is scheduled for Saturday, April 4, 2009. If you or someone you know is a lovely, accomplished young lady between the ages of 17 and 24, don’t miss this contest.

Miss Norway of Greater New York 2009 and Miss Norwegian Heritage will be crowned by Consul General Sissel Breie on May 17, at the famous Norwegian Constitution Day Parade in Brooklyn. Prizes include a trip to Norway, hotel accommodations and many more exciting items.
An Added Attraction
A new highlight has been added to the Miss Norway of Greater New York Contest. This year, future Miss Norways are invited to take part in the Little Miss Norway Parade.
Girls between 4 years and 10 years of age, who have a Norwegian grandparent, are invited to attend the Miss Norway contest on April 4, 2009. That day each girl will receive 2 guaranteed tickets to the contest event. As the adult contestants wait for the decision of the judges, the girls will march into the auditorium and cross the stage (an important someone can accompany the youngest Miss Norways-to-be), give her name, say a word or two in Norwegian and all girls will receive a crown and prizes.
Participants will accompany Miss Norway of Greater New York and Miss Norwegian Heritage in the parade on May 17. They will be invited to come on stage at the Reviewing Stand where the MC will introduce them.
Contestants must meet the following criteria: Be 17 – 24 years of age, have at least one Norwegian grandparent, have knowledge of their Norwegian heritage and submit an application.
