Norway is sixth in a new ranking of the countries with the highest standard of living.
The renowned U.S. magazine Newsweek has ranked 100 countries according to living standards.
The award is based on the quality of life, education, economic dynamics, health and political environment. The scale runs from 0 to 100, and according to the magazine, Finland has the highest living standards.
Our neighbors to the east has an average score of over 89.31, while Switzerland is just behind (89).
Norway in 6th
Sweden, Australia and Luxembourg follow in the next places, while Norway have to settle for 6th (87.35).
At the same time it means that Nordic countries possess three of the six top spots.
The African countries Burkina Faso, Nigeria and Cameroon are ranked lowest.
Newsweek has spent several months conducting award, and has been helped by a number of researchers in the various categories.
In ranking the magazine has also compared to countries that are most similar in relation to, among other things, income and number of inhabitants.
Education and wealth
The award shows that small countries with few inhabitants make it the best, and this reflects that in these countries it takes less to raise the overall quality of life.
Not surprisingly, wealth has a lot to say, and with educational and economic prospects, these have significant impact on ranking.
