New digital mail service launched
Starting April 5, the Norwegian Mail Service (Posten) will offer its customers a new digital document storage service, Digipost, but the data industry is skeptical of the new service, NRK reports.
Digipost offers customers a three-year free mail service and storage of important documents, but it is unclear what happens after this period, according to NRK.
“Users must test out the new service and demand more spesific terms,” says Per Morten Hoff, Secretary General of IKT-Norge.
Posten Norge believes Digipost eventually will replace most ordinary letter writing, and is estimating that the new service will have more than a million users by the end of 2011.
