NAV: Norway Jobless Rate Stable In August

Norway’s jobless rate stood at 3% in August, unchanged from the previous month, a report by Norway’s Labor and Welfare Administration (NAV) said on Aug. 28.

The August rate matched economists expectations. The jobless rate was 1.8% in the same month of the previous year.

The number of unemployed persons were 77,109 in August, smaller than the 78,409 persons in July.

On Wednesday, the Statistics Norway had reported that the jobless rate stood at 3% in June, measured by the average of three months from May to July period. The rate was smaller than the 3.2% in March, measured by the average of three months from February to April.
