Mathias Hatleskog Tjønn to perform in Brooklyn

Mathias Hatleskog Tjønn is a Norwegian musician/composer currently living, breathing and working in New York City. Mathias will perform Nov 19 and Dec 10.

Mathias’ music is seeped in acoustic folk traditions of Norwegian, American and Brazilian origin, but often features grander arrangements of strings, woodwinds and vocal harmonies. He sings in both Norwegian and English and is currently finishing work on his debut-CD called Interim EP, slated for release this fall.

After graduating from Berklee College of Music in Boston with a BA in guitar performance and contemporary writing & production in December of 2008 Mathias moved to New York, hell-bent on making and/or breaking it. In addition to writing and performing his own music, he also DJs around town under the moniker DJ Emoticon and works as a freelance composer for film and TV. His latest project was scoring the full-length independent feature film “Sneakers & Soul” (2009).
