All six of the players who start for Haugesund in tonight’s game against the the Bergen Brann will be suspended if they receive yellow cards.
FK Haugesund is so far the only club in the Premier League that has not had players suspended due to yellow cards.
But with the increasing number of players with two yellow cards, sports director of FKH Asbjørn Helgeland is afraid that the statistics will start to work against the players. And it could happen during the game against the Brann Friday at 7:00 p.m.
“The worst situation I can think of is if we lose our peak players at the same time,” says Helgeland.
It will be important for Haugesund to render the best possible team in the final game of the season where they fight in the upper part of the division, just three points behind the Brann.
“We have the most players who are scott-free, so we will be able to tolerate it if only one player is suspended, but several players at the same time will not be the best,” he says.
He is proud to be one of the “nicest” clubs in the Premier League, and the only one where no players have gotten more than two yellow cards.
“We do not get unnecessary cards, but we still manage to do well in tackles,” he says.
So even though more than half of the Haugesund players could be suspended if they get yellow cards, all are ready for an exciting match with a high temperature at Bergen’s Brann Stadium today.
