Magnus Moan wins Nordic combined World Cup event
Magnus Moan, from Lillehammer, won a Nordic combined World Cup event in difficult conditions in Seefeld, Austria on Feb. 8. This is his sixth victory of the season and 13th overall.
Moan started the 10-kilometre cross-country race in 16th place but overtook race leader Mario Stecher of Austria in the final kilometre to finish in 29 minutes, 18.8 seconds.
Stecher, who won Saturday’s event, was 3.2 seconds back in second.
Finland’s Anssi Koivuranta, who leads the World Cup standings, took third, 33.7 behind Moan.
Earlier, organizers interrupted the jumping discipline after 35 of 43 athletes and finally called it off as heavy snowfall made a fair competition impossible.
