Lübeck prizes for Norwegian children’s films

Norwegian director Atle Knudsen’s feature debut, “ORPS-The Movie”, was named Best Children’s Movie by the Children’s Jury at the 51st Nordic Fiim Days in Lübeck – the largest showcase of Nordic films outside Scandiavia.

One of the cast members, Henrik Mestad, received the award at the Nov. 7 closing ceremony. Another Norwegian first feature, Katja Eyde Jacobsen’s “Yatzy”, was honoured by the Nordic Film Institute’s prize for Best Children and Youth Film.

Gunnar Vikene’s “Vegas” and Håvard Bustnes’ documentary, “Big John” (Blod og ære), were both given a diploma with a special mention from the Ecumenical and the Documentary Jury, respectively.

A total of 28 Norwegian films were presented in Lübeck, including Eva Dahr’s “The Orange Girl” (Appelsinpiken), Espen Sandberg-Joachim Roenning’s “Max Manus”, Rune Denstad Langlo’s “North”, Stian Kristiansen’s “The Man who Loved Yngve” and Erik Poppe’s “Troubled Water”, which will all shortly go into general release in Germany.
