Four cars and a motorbike were involved in a traffic accident on the E18 in Lier Friday afternoon.

The cause of the accident was that the vehicle failed to stop for the cars in front. There was a lot of queuing on the road when the accident happened, “said operations manager in South Buskerud Police District, Truls Kjetil Fjeld to NRK.no.

No person was severely injured in the accident.

E18 closed

E18 was closed in the southbound direction. Police directed traffic on the old E18 at Liertoppen.

Just before 17:00 hours the road opened to traffic, but the Norwegian Public Roads Administration fears long lines this evening.

It starts to help now, but it’s still a lot of queues from Oslo. We expect that there will be lines on the road a good while yet” said Neel Irgens at Central Road traffic.
