Lillehammer opens Ski Trail Library

The Lillehammer Public Library has just opened a mini branch office in of all places a tent, close to the main ski trail skirting the town, with the aim to create more public interest in reading books, reports Norway Post.
At the tent you may take a break, pick up a book and spend a few minutes browsing and reading, before again setting out on the trail.
“We know that many use our library, but also realise that many have never crossed our threshold. So, by placing books in unusual places, we hope people may become more interested,” says head of the Lillehammer Public Library, Berit Strømshoved to NRK.
Lillehammer is a town and municipality in Oppland county, Norway, globally known for hosting the 1994 Winter Olympics. It is part of the traditional region of Gudbrandsdal. The administrative centre of the municipality is the town of Lillehammer.
The city centre is a well-preserved late 19th century concentration of wooden houses, which enjoys a picturesque location overlooking the northern part of lake Mjøsa and the river Lågen, surrounded by mountains. The main street is excellent for people-watching, shopping, and dining.
