Kevin Costner to Attend ONS
Kevin Costner is a founder of the companies Blue Planet Solutions and Ocean Therapy Solutions, and also a celebrated actor, businessman and environmental campaigner, will be attending ONS in August.
Costner is among those who have established the companies Blue Planet Solutions and Ocean Therapy Solutions, which have been actively utilising their centrifuge technologies during the clean-up operations following the Gulf of Mexico oil spill disaster.
Kevin Costner is a founder of the companies Blue Planet Solutions and Ocean Therapy Solutions. He will be giving a presentation during the ONS Conference together with Chief Operating Officer Patrick N. Smith.
Under the title “State of the art oil spill recovery systems”, they will share their experiences and review the challenges encountered during the massive clean-up operation now going on in the Gulf of Mexico.
The presentation will be held Aug. 26 during one of the conference’s technology sessions.
Kevin Costner is an active environmental campaigner, especially on the American continent. Since the 1990’s he has become involved in the development of clean-up technologies via his company Costner Industries, and most recently via Blue Planet Solutions and Ocean Therapy Solutions.
“The Gulf of Mexico disaster has grabbed everyone’s attention and the clean-up technology that Costner has been working with since the 1990’s has been adapted to cope with the magnitude of the oil spill,” says ONS conference manager May-Lis Thorsson. “The experiences and challenges that they have encountered with the centrifuge technology, and with the disaster in general, will provide an exciting addition to our program,” says Thorsson.
Ocean Therapy Solutions has developed a centrifuge system that separates oil from water. Originally, the machines were developed for small-scale operations, but the demands of the Gulf of Mexico disaster have enabled them to be adapted in record time to deal with larger spills.
