Norway’s javelin ace Andreas Thorkildsen had to settle for second place yet again, at this weekend’s European Team Championship, i Fana, near Bergen. Finland’s Tero Pitkämäki won the event.

Thorkildsen stopped after only two throws, with a pulled groin muscle.
