Jarmund / Vigsnæs Architect Exhibition in St. Louis, MO
The exhibition LOST IN NATURE, on display through Nov 30th, highlights selected work of the energetic, accomplished Oslo-based practice of Jarmund/Vigsnæs (partners Einar Jarmund, Hakon Vigsnæs, Alessandra Kosberg).
The practice focuses on projects with potential for meaningful architecture, most often closely related to nature and preferably in strong natural settings with harsh climate conditions. The practice explores modern possibilities with sensual and tactile means, seeking the right character for the place and purpose. Clear and understandable strategies aim for results that are both self-evident and sensational. Larger projects results most commonly from competition-winning schemes, smaller projects from the reputation of former clients and structures.
Jarmund / Vigsnæs Architects are: Einar Jarmund, Håkon Vigsnæs, Alessandra Kosberg. Jarmund and Vigsnæs were born in 1962 in Oslo and graduated from the Oslo School of Architecture in 1987 and 1989. Håkon spent one year at the Architectural Association (AA) in London and Einar took a Masters degree from University of Washington in Seattle.
