Hurtigruten teams up with National Geographic
The Norwegian Coastal Ferry Hurtigruten will probably grab an even larger part of the international tourism market after the ship-owner Hurtigruten ASA has teamed up with the worldwide known company National Geographic.
“This is an acknowledgement of the Coastal Ferry as being something unique,” Managing Director in Hurtigruten ASA Olav Fjell says, web site E24.no reports, according to BarentsObserver.
According to Director of the National Geographic Center for Sustainable Destinations Jonathan Tourtellout, the Coastal Ferry is amongst the best examples of sustainable traveling:
“The crew is Norwegian, the food is Norwegian and the whole experience is uniquely connected to the country where the vessels sail, something one cannot say about the more traditional cruise traffic,” he says.
