Growth of the Soil recording sessions
This is a behind-the-scenes from recording sessions with the Norwegian Broadcasting Orchestra, KORK.
The sessions were recorded for the release of the newly restored silent movie Markens Grøde (Growth of the Soil) from 1921. The film is an adaptation of the Norwegian world-renowned author Knut Hamsun’s novel by the same name. This clip features Norwegian producer Halldor Krogh and the German conductor Frank Strobel in a conversation on the uniqueness of this composition, as it was the first ever original Norwegian film score. A newly restored version of this silent film classic has been released by The Norwegian Film Institute and The National Library of Norway on DVD.
