Golf: Marianne shares top spot in Italy

Norway’s Marianne Skarpnord is leading in Italy alongside England’s Laura Davies at the Carta Si Ladies Italian Open.
After four weeks of absence because of LPGA Qualifying, Marianne Skarpnord, from Sarpsborg, is finally back on the LET, and back where she left; in the top. This is her 5th season with LED status.
Marianne started to play golf when she was only four years old. It was obviously all just for fun in the beginning, but pretty soon she went on to become much more serious and determined.
Lat year, Marianne played 21 tournaments on the Ladies Europeantour. She made 18 cuts, and her best finish was a 2nd place in the Ladies Irish Open.
She also played four torunaments on the South African Tour early in the season, where she had 3 top 4 finishes and 1 top 10. On the South African Tour order of merit she finished 5th total, and on the Ladies Europeantour she finished 16th on the moneylist.
Thruout the 2008 season, Marianne had a scoring avarage of 71,7, and her best round was a 62(-10) on the South African Tour.
Skarpnord earned her first career win on the Ladies European Tour on May 15, 2009 at the Deutsche Bank Ladies Open.
