Gardermoen's terminal 2 financed
The Nordic Investment Bank (NIB) will loan Avinor 1,500 million for the construction of Terminal 2 at Gardermoen Airport outside of Oslo.
Loan terms were clarified on Monday.
The first phase of the project increases the capacity of the airport to 28 million passengers by 2017, while a provision is also made for the next expansion to 35 million passengers.
NIB is an international financial institution that will cover the eight Nordic and Baltic countries. Avinor is a wholly owned government corporation that operates 46 airports in Norway.
Many of these airports are losing money, while Gardermoen is the company’s moneymaker.
